Hilary, I feel your pain. Even when authors are published by large publishers, very little is done in the way of promotion. No matter who you publish with, or how, you will have to market your book. So, get online and research book marketing (there are lots of resources.) You’ll need to find your own reviewers first off. (If you don’t have a digital copy of your book— that is, a mobi or epub file — ask your publisher for one.) You can go to my blog and read all the how-to articles under the self-publishing tab. There are a lot of good resources there that also apply to traditionally published books. http://publishedtodeath.blogspot.com/p/self-publishing.html

Here is a list of reviewers for traditionally published books.

Self promotion is the best promotion, so get out there— give talks, arrange your own book tour, give interviews- it’s fun!
