I have published traditionally and I’ve also self-published. My self-published book sold better than either of the traditional publishers I worked with (Random House and St. Martin’s). But I had a niche market that I could reach directly. I’m not sure how self-publishing would work for a genre that has a lot of competition. But I’m willing to give it a go! (Normally, I do everything I can to publish through traditional channels before I self-publish. Self-publishing is a lot of work.)
